Loan & Insurance Platform

Client Description

A financial services company that specializes in providing loans and insurance to small businesses across Europe.

Project Background

The company uses a proprietary platform to evaluate and manage its customers. With over 1 million customers, the platform successfully stores, manages, and analyzes terabytes of customer data.

Challenges

As the platform grew, its scalability issues became more obvious. The platform was struggling to keep up with the traffic.

In order to meet regulatory compliance and standards, the client needed a hybrid cloud solution. The client required an architecture, which would keep part of the data and services on-premises.

Value Delivered

We evaluated the client’s requirements and proposed a scalable architecture, which meets regulatory compliance and standards.

After approval, we migrated the data and services to the cloud utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) software and DevOps pipelines for continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD).

We had to develop a custom integration layer as well, for the connection between the newly deployed cloud infrastructure and already existing on-premise services.

The newly developed solution was not only able to scale according to the growing demand but with the new pipeline infrastructure we managed to reduce the delivery time of new features by 70%.

World Data Pro

Client Description

World Data Lab (WDL) is a data enterprise that produces the most consistent and credible estimates for spending and demography.

Research from WDL has appeared on CNN, The Economist, and the Financial Times. Some of their clients include HSBC, L’Oreal, and Citibank. Their advisory board includes leading representatives of the World Bank, Brookings Institution, and academia. Their team is made up of the world’s leading experts on economics, demography, and income.

Project Background

The World Data Pro product is a state-of-the-art analytics and data as a service (DaaS) tool. With it, you can increase your understanding of current markets, develop data-driven emerging market entry strategies, increase the accuracy of current and future customer profiles, and maximize revenue through optimized sales and distribution.

Challenges

The legacy version of the product had numerous issues with maintainability, new feature creation, and delivery, as well as data indexing and user traffic scalability issues.

The WDL team needed a complete rework and redevelopment of the tool, with a new design library, front- and backend services, and with state-of-the-art data indexing solution. All of them should run on a multi-regional highly available and scalable cloud infrastructure.

Value Delivered

After evaluating WDL’s requirements we proposed a scalable cloud and software architecture. It was able to reliably and instantaneously index and process the hundreds of gigabytes of consumer data.

  1. After approval, we implemented a custom backend service, which takes care of the subscription and access plan management.
  2. A backend service that searches and aggregates data from the search index.
  3. We developed the custom design library and a frontend app in accordance with the provided designs by the WDL team.
  4. Automated CI/CD pipelines were set up for the building, testing, and deployment stages of the services to a container orchestration system hosted on the cloud.

With this, we not only managed to develop a highly scalable data analytics platform but also achieve a very high level of customization and automation of the update, monitoring, and maintenance processes of the World Data Pro product.

Hunger Clock

Client Description

World Data Lab (WDL) is a data enterprise that produces the most consistent and credible estimates for spending and demography.

Research from WDL has appeared on CNN, The Economist, and the Financial Times. Some of their clients include HSBC, L’Oreal, and Citibank. Their advisory board includes leading representatives of the World Bank, Brookings Institution, and academia. Their team is made up of the world’s leading experts on economics, demography, and income.

Project Background

The World Hunger Clock product, enables everyone to explore the most accurate and granular estimates of food insecurity around the world, including projections until 2030.

Project and Challenges

As the product was still in the planning phase, WDL needed a partner with the skillset to develop the API. The tool aggregates hundreds of gigabytes of data and is used by millions of users every month. This is why scalability was of the utmost importance.

Value Delivered

We have evaluated WDL’s requirements and developed a plan and cloud architecture that is able to scale accordingly and cover the initial planned data processing and traffic demands.

After approval, we implemented a scalable web API, which processes and sends back aggregated data to end users. Additionally, we developed a custom automatic data deployment solution and integrated the API with the frontend provided by the WDL team. In the end, we deployed the whole structure to the cloud with automated CI/CD processes.

With this, we managed to achieve scalability and full automation of the update and maintenance processes of the World Hunger Clock product.
